Overview
Staff Software Engineer role focused on designing and implementing Wi‑Fi and mesh networking software features, testing, and field issue debugging on CSP broadband platforms.
What you'll do
- Design and implement software features and unit tests related to Wi‑Fi based on PRPL.
- Develop and integrate mesh networking features on prplMesh/Easymesh (prplOS) and RDK‑B/OpenWRT-based platforms.
- Develop proof of concepts for new technologies.
- Research new Wi‑Fi technologies.
- Debug and resolve field issues including client connectivity, roaming, stability, and interoperability in collaboration with silicon vendors.
What you'll need
- Over 9 years of experience in embedded system software development.
- Strong programming skills in C/C++.
- Strong understanding of Wi‑Fi technologies including 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be and 802.11 extensions (802.11k, v, r) and DFS.
- Extensive experience with Linux programs, including device drivers and applications.
- Extensive experience with WPA supplicant, Hostapd, and the Radius protocol.
- Extensive experience with IP networking and knowledge of TCP/IP.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or equivalent.
Nice to have
- In-depth understanding of the 802.11 protocol suite and WLAN technology.
- Experience on Qualcomm, Broadcom, MaxLinear platform(s).
- Experience with Wi‑Fi 6 and Wi‑Fi 7 including MLO / 802.11be features.
- Hands-on experience with prplMesh/Easymesh, IEEE 1905.1, and 802.11s mesh networking including Easymesh R5/R6 certification.
- Experience with RDK‑B, prplOS, and/or OpenWRT gateway software stacks.
- Familiarity with Yocto build systems and embedded Linux kernel/driver development.

- Location: India with a flexible hybrid work model; work from Bangalore office for 20 days in a quarter.
