Staff Software Engineer, QE

Overview

Staff Quality Engineer on the Content Portfolio team, owning test strategy and automation frameworks to ensure reliable software releases at scale.

What you'll do

• Lead development of test automation frameworks across UI, API, and GraphQL layers.
• Design and integrate AI evaluation frameworks for LLM-powered features.
• Use AI-assisted development tools (Cursor, Claude) to accelerate test creation and debugging.
• Lead performance testing and monitoring implementation.
• Build reporting and analytics tools for test coverage, flaky tests, and quality metrics.
• Optimize CI/CD test execution pipelines for faster feedback.
• Perform root cause analysis for critical issues and drive improvements to prevent recurrence.

What you'll need

• 8+ years in software quality engineering roles, including at least 2 years at Staff/Lead level.
• Deep proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and modern frontend ecosystems.
• Expert experience with Playwright or comparable browser automation frameworks.
• Experience with unit and component testing frameworks such as Vitest, Jest, or React Testing Library.
• Experience designing and building test automation frameworks from scratch or scaling existing ones.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD systems and integrating/optimizing test suites within them.
• Experience with GraphQL APIs and writing integration tests with mocked schemas.
