Strategy Lead

Overview

Lead the establishment and growth of BJAK's business in Indonesia, building partner relationships, understanding the local market and shaping the local strategy.

What you'll do

• Identify, approach and close partnerships with financial institutions and ecosystem players
• Own each partnership relationship end to end, from first conversation through negotiation, onboarding, integration and go-live
• Lead commercial negotiations, with sound judgement on pricing and partnership economics
• Keep a visible partnership pipeline, with disciplined follow-up and clear reporting
• Work with legal, product, technology and compliance to get agreements live quickly
• Establish how BJAK operates locally, including the regulatory requirements that apply
• Work with external counsel and internal compliance on the policies needed as the business grows
• Act as a primary point of contact for regulators and manage filings and communications
• Own monthly revenue, volume and activation targets, and drive partner productivity after go-live
• Set the local strategy, including which segments to pursue, which partners matter most, and where to compete and where not to
• Build the operating rhythm behind it, from reporting and planning through to the processes the team runs on
• Feed local learnings into the wider regional and global strategy, and bring the global playbook back into the local market
• Work with teams across the group, applying what has already worked elsewhere

What you'll need

• Fluent Indonesian and English, written and spoken
• At least five years across technology, financial services or a comparable commercial environment
• Real negotiation and partnership experience
• Experience operating across functions, including commercial work as well as operations, regulatory, product or other areas as the situation required
• Comfortable moving between strategy and execution, in the same week if needed
• Evidence of building something from nothing, whether a market, a function or a business line
• Comfortable with ambiguity and self-directed, showing initiative rather than needing instruction
