Supplier Quality Engineer

Overview

Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for supplier qualification, audits, CAPA/SCAR closure, and supplier performance monitoring for ZEISS.

What you'll do

• Prepare, execute, and follow up supplier qualification based on business needs.
• Report supplier audit results, ensure timely closure of audit findings, and maintain the global/local audit plan.
• Drive supplier CAPA/SCAR issue resolution and verify effectiveness with on-time closure.
• Monitor supplier performance of Vision Care System across business units on a monthly basis.
• Participate in external and internal SQM/purchasing control audits to ensure 100% compliance.
• Maintain local and global approved supplier lists for the VCS business.
• Support NPI and APQP deliverables with R&D and Lifecycle Quality teams.

What you'll need

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in supplier quality for medical devices (class 1 and 2), lenses/optical medical devices, optical frames, and accessories, or regulatory industry.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical / Bio Medical / Polymer Engineering).
• Experience handling supplier audits and NC closure, including supplier audits on-site or remote.
• Experience with non-conformities and customer complaints, including 8D and SCAR/CAPA.
• Experience with APQP and NPI project management and supplier-side component/parts & finished device development.
• Knowledge of quality/purchasing documentation such as PSW/PPAP.
• Fluency in English is mandatory.

Details

• Base location: Electronic City & Devenhalli, Bengaluru.
• Work involves travel to supplier locations and ZEISS business entities (minimum 40% travel).
