Application Support Engineer

Overview

Act as a software detective, providing a dynamic service that identifies and solves issues across multiple components of critical business systems, with a focus on Site Reliability Engineering.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with and manage the team to perform project work.
• Take responsibility for team decisions.
• Oversee the entire project and its technical requirements.
• Provide hands-on coverage for development.
• Lead complex Infra-as-code projects.
• Act as technical SPOC for juniors and oversee technical troubleshooting of issues.
• Interface with delivery, operations, and client teams to gather requirements.
• Ensure coding standards and hygiene are maintained.
• Review code, PRs, and code merges, and provide feedback.
• Perform bug fixing and tracking.
• Independently set up and configure automation and prerequisite environments.
• Own and maintain technical documentation.
• Navigate existing code and re-use parts of it.

What you'll need

• Proficiency in Site Reliability Engineering (must have).
• Minimum 12 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering.
• 15 years full-time education.
• Expertise in Ansible and CI/CD for Infra-as-code projects.
• Experience handling and leading complex Infra-as-code projects.
• Hands-on expertise in DevOps and related technologies.
• OS administration on RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, Windows Server, or VMWare vSphere.
• Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub, Bitbucket, and branching strategies.
• Strong knowledge of Shell scripting, PowerShell, and Python.
• Strong knowledge of DevOps tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Resolve.io, AWX, and GitLab CI/CD.
• Knowledge of volume/disk management, package management, CPU/memory management, text manipulation, AD, networking, and security.
• Strong knowledge of API interfaces and invoking REST API methods with Ansible playbooks, Python/Groovy scripts, and pipelines.

Nice to have

• Optional skills in MyWizard ATR workflows, RunDeck, or Power Automate, CloudWatch, Splunk, ELK, SolarWinds, etc.
