About the Job

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer Intern to join our engineering team. This is a remote internship where you will work primarily on backend systems, APIs, data pipelines, and infrastructure, while gaining selective exposure to frontend integration.

You will help design and build scalable, production-ready services that power our AI-driven hiring and learning platforms. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys server-side development, databases, performance optimization, and system design, with an interest in how frontend applications consume backend APIs.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python
• Build and optimize data processing pipelines and backend logic supporting AI-driven features
• Develop server-side applications using Flask (Python) with a focus on performance and scalability
• Work extensively with PostgreSQL for data modeling, querying, and optimization using SQLAlchemy
• Implement caching and background processing using Redis
• Containerize applications and manage services using Docker
• Integrate backend APIs with frontend applications (basic frontend understanding required)
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and technical documentation
• Debug, profile, and optimize backend performance and reliability
• Stay updated with best practices in backend engineering, Python ecosystems, and distributed systems

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Solid understanding of backend development concepts (APIs, request/response lifecycle, authentication, caching)
• Experience working with Flask (Python) or similar backend frameworks
• Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL and relational database design
• Familiarity with SQLAlchemy or ORM-based data access patterns
• Experience using Docker for development and deployment
• Working knowledge of Redis for caching or background tasks
• Understanding of software engineering fundamentals (data structures, debugging, version control)
• Ability to work independently in a remote, collaborative environment

Good to Have

• Exposure to AI/ML-powered backend systems or data pipelines
• Experience with async processing, queues, or task workers
• Basic familiarity with frontend frameworks (React, HTML/CSS, or JS) for API integration
• Experience deploying applications to cloud platforms
