Associate, Construction Accounting

Overview

The Associate, Construction Accounting supports financial management, reporting, and controls for construction, development, and capital projects across a real estate portfolio.

What you'll do

• Complete monthly, quarterly, and year-end general ledger close activities.
• Prepare journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and fixed asset schedules.
• Track project budgets, commitments, actual costs, change orders, and contract balances.
• Review invoices, payment applications, waivers, and supporting documentation.
• Support lender and equity draw processes with schedules and reconciliations.
• Prepare project cost reports, budget-to-actual analyses, and financial schedules.
• Partner with project, accounts payable, operations, and finance teams.

What you'll need

• At least 4 years of accounting experience.
• A university or college accounting degree.
• Experience with month-end close and financial reporting.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
• Understanding of basic accounting principles and US GAAP.
• Ability to analyze and communicate project financial data.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines across time zones.

Nice to have

• Experience with construction draws, pay applications, retainage, and change orders.
• Construction, project, real estate, or development accounting experience.
• Experience with job costing, capital projects, budget tracking, invoice processing, and reconciliations.
• Experience supporting a US-based team in a GCC, shared services, or BPO environment.
• Familiarity with MRI or Oracle.
• Accounting certifications.
