Associate General Counsel, Litigation

Overview

Associate General Counsel, Litigation will lead Motive’s litigation strategy and manage the litigation function across the company.

What you'll do

• Develop and drive Motive’s litigation strategy, including identifying and pursuing strategic claims and counterclaims.
• Manage and develop litigation team members and shape the litigation function’s structure and operating model.
• Lead outside counsel selection, matter staffing, and budget management for litigation.
• Serve as a senior day-to-day leader for litigation matters while partnering with internal stakeholders.
• Stay current on industry developments to advise colleagues on contentious and strategic matters.

What you'll need

• US-licensed attorney.
• 10+ years of relevant litigation experience with significant time at a top-tier litigation firm.
• Experience initiating and leading complex IP, trade secret, marketing, Lanham, and competitor-related disputes.
• Significant trial experience, including dispositive motions, witness examination, and argument.
• Experience developing litigation strategy across multiple phases from pre-suit to appeal.
• Experience managing outside counsel, litigation budgets, and cross-functional internal teams.

• Location: United States — Remote.
• Hybrid schedule: in-office 2 days a week if within the Bay Area.
