Associate Materials and Process Engineer -General

Overview

Associate Materials and Process Engineer on the Materials & Manufacturing Technology Integration (MMTI) team in Bangalore, supporting development and implementation of advanced manufacturing technologies and processes into Boeing production systems.

What you'll do

• Perform engineering and technical activities in the areas of Materials, Process & Physics for various Boeing Programs.
• Review Boeing drawings, part lists, process specifications and substitution lists, and determine the Engineering requirements in the area of Materials, Process & Physics.
• Evaluate various industry specifications for materials and suggest alternates to Boeing specifications.
• As required, provide technical guidance to Boeing suppliers in the area of structural assembly & machining.
• Evaluate and test emerging technologies in the area of structural assembly & machining for potential application to business needs.
• Support Boeing Engineering.
• Provide engineering support such as reviewing drawings and responding to airline customer queries.

What you'll need

• Bachelor degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology (including Mechanical, Electrical, Production, Chemical Engineering and Aerospace), or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
• 1+ year of shop floor experience in assembly / machining / finishes, preferably in aerospace.
• 1+ year experience in reviewing engineering drawings and process specifications.

Nice to have

• Ability to communicate with suppliers and provide technical support by responding to their queries during on-site visits.
• Exposure to Boeing specifications (D documents, BACs, BSSs, BMS) and how to navigate them.
• Master's degree preferred but not a requirement.

• Typical education and experience: technical Bachelor's degree with typically 1-3 years related work experience.
