Business Analyst

Overview

Develop and complete assigned engagements that drive automation and AI-enabled solutions to strengthen service delivery and operational excellence. This role contributes to the Lead in efficiency strategic priority.

What you'll do

• Develop, test, and deploy automation-scoped tasks using approved Amex GBT tech stack
• Write and optimize queries for data extraction, transformation, and validation
• Administer the automation platform, including user access, scheduling, and workflow monitoring
• Perform quality checks on each scoped deliverable to ensure accuracy and reliability
• Meet performance metrics (e.g., turnaround time, accuracy, SLA compliance) for assigned engagements
• Troubleshoot and fix workflow errors and technical issues
• Maintain up-to-date documentation and configuration notes for all assigned engagements
• Share development progress on assigned tasks with stakeholders
• Identify and flag opportunities for process improvement or automation within assigned work
• Leverage approved AI/GenAI tools to support development work

What you'll need

• Graduate in Computer Science, IT, analytics, or a related field
• 3+ years of relevant experience in automation, data preparation, or ETL
• Experience building and maintaining data workflows using tools like Alteryx, KNIME, or equivalent, and VBA
• SQL skills for querying, transforming, and validating data across relational databases
• Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Advanced Excel and PowerPoint
• Familiarity with Power Automate and SharePoint lists
• A curious, energetic self-starter who picks up new tools quickly and brings a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to problem-solving
• A structured thinker who can break down complex problems and translate them into clear, reusable documentation
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
• Flexible, effective communicator with excellent interpersonal and time management skills

Nice to have

• Travel industry background
• Experience with Claude or similar AI tools to support development
