Overview
Lead the design, development, testing, and implementation of complex operational analytics and insight solutions. Partner with business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to translate data into actionable recommendations and deliver sustainable solutions across multiple data sources.
What you'll do
- Lead medium to complex analytics initiatives from requirements definition through development, testing, implementation, and post-delivery review.
- Independently interpret and refine ambiguous business requirements and recommend the most appropriate analytical approach.
- Design sustainable solutions using multiple static and dynamic data sources while managing data-quality limitations and technical dependencies.
- Translate complex analysis into actionable insights, recommendations, and clearly articulated business implications.
- Partner directly with senior operational, clinical, payment integrity, performance-improvement, and technology stakeholders.
- Facilitate alignment when stakeholders have competing requirements, priorities, or definitions.
- Own the quality, accuracy, documentation, and timely delivery of assigned analytics workstreams.
- Establish or improve analytical controls, testing practices, metric definitions, and reporting governance.
- Identify and lead automation and process-improvement opportunities, including measurement of expected and realized benefits.
- Proactively communicate delivery risks, assumptions, limitations, and dependencies to business and management stakeholders.
- Review analytical outputs and provide technical or methodological guidance to other analysts.
- Balance complex project delivery with critical BAU reporting and urgent operational priorities.
- Design and devise solutions for small to complex BI delivery projects using static and dynamic data sources, existing tools and capabilities, and sustainable approaches.
- Work with technology on “end state” solutions while building tactical solutions with offline and online data sources.
- Identify efficiency opportunities in business-as-usual and ad hoc reporting and implement automated solutions demonstrating time and productivity gains.
- Interpret data to understand key drivers for results, principal factors leading to the numbers, and the impact of a metric on other functions.
- Work and help promote change within the department and across networks effectively.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of experience, preferably in the Health insurance industry.
- Strong QlikView, Qlik Sense, SQL, Excel, and Microsoft Access experience.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Strong, clear, and concise written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex or cross-functional analytics deliverables.
- Experience integrating, reconciling, and interpreting information from multiple data sources.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into analytical solutions and actionable recommendations.
- Strong stakeholder-management skills, including experience presenting complex information to senior audiences.
- Ability to operate independently when requirements, data, or ownership are not fully defined.
- Experience establishing reporting controls, metric definitions, testing approaches, or analytical governance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or equivalent is preferred.
Nice to have
- AWS (Amazon Web Services) experience.
- Microsoft SharePoint skills and experience.
- SAS experience.
- Experience using AI, Generative AI, or machine learning-enabled tools to support data analysis, reporting, process improvement, or automation.
- Knowledge or prior experience of Operations and Health Insurance, with demonstrated experience driving operational metric reporting/MIS and improvements while working directly with internal and external customers.
