Overview
Airside Geometric & Grading Engineer to support planning and detailed design of airport airside infrastructure.
What you'll do
- Undertake horizontal and vertical geometric design of airport airside infrastructure.
- Develop grading and level designs for runways, taxiways, rapid exit taxiways, aprons, aircraft stands, holding bays, link taxiways, and service roads.
- Prepare and review longitudinal profiles, cross-sections, grading plans, and setting-out drawings.
- Develop grading solutions considering aircraft operational requirements, slopes, sight-distance, pavement drainage, and existing ground conditions.
- Develop and maintain Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and grading models.
- Coordinate airside grading with stormwater drainage, pavement, utilities, AGL, navigational aids, and other infrastructure.
What you'll need
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in civil infrastructure design.
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized university/institution.
- Good understanding of civil engineering fundamentals and geometric design principles.
- Strong Civil 3D modelling and drawing production skills.
- Ability to interpret survey data and develop practical grading solutions.
- Ability to perform independent design checks against applicable airport geometric design standards.
Nice to have
- Experience in airport/airside infrastructure design.
- Strong experience in highway geometric design and an interest in transitioning to airport engineering.
