Cloud Platform Engineer-Kubernetes, Officer

Overview

Design, build and manage infrastructure as code and CI/CD delivery pipelines for cloud platforms on Azure, with a focus on Azure Kubernetes Service.

What you'll do

• Design, implement and manage infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform and DevOps CI/CD processes to deploy infrastructure and services to Azure.
• Be responsible for cloud platform build, release and delivery pipelines.
• Build the IaC framework from the ground up, applying all best practices.
• Author reusable Terraform modules and templates.
• Manage resources using Azure Terraform modules and automated infrastructure management.
• Develop, deploy and maintain tools built from the ground up in support of self-service, quality, security and compliance initiatives.
• Improve quality of service for PaaS and SaaS application deployments on Azure Kubernetes Service.
• Assist, contribute to and lead when required with prototyping platform design solutions and technologies.
• Apply global research on next-generation technologies, frameworks, solutions and best practices to meet project and platform requirements.
• Balance pragmatism with vision and deliver continuous improvements to the team's process and codebase.
• Build automation to prevent and/or remediate service problems from becoming production incidents.
• Contribute to and drive knowledge sharing, documentation and collaboration.

What you'll need

• Minimum 11 to 14 years of progressively responsible professional software engineering experience.
• Extensive experience in DevOps practices, including CI/CD, GitOps, and image scanning and signing.
• Expert-level Terraform skills and extensive experience with Azure.
• Competence in writing clean, bug-free code to defined standards (appropriate variable declarations, class/method design, non-redundant and optimized code).
• Ability to write unit test cases and test code accordingly.
• Awareness of technologies, coding practices and tools used in the project.
• Ability to translate design or program specifications into clean code.
• Knowledge of code repository tools and build automation.
• 3+ years of platform automation experience using Infrastructure as Code orchestration tools such as Terraform or Ansible.
• Hands-on experience with Azure IaaS and PaaS services.
• Experience building and deploying containers with Kubernetes, or a strong desire to rapidly gain significant experience.
• Strong interest in monitoring, instrumentation and observability, with a detective mindset.
• Security-focused mindset with experience securing SaaS applications and APIs in the public cloud.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Jira, Artifactory, Confluence or similar tools.
• Accountable, self-motivated, delivery-focused team player.
