Overview
Hands-on Cloud Systems Engineer on ClearDATA's Professional Services team, providing frontline cloud operations support and technical implementation across AWS, Azure, and GCP environments for healthcare managed services.
What you'll do
- Continuously monitor system health, network, and performance tooling across the ClearDATA Secure Cloud, validating alerts and sorting incoming tickets by type and urgency.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customers hosting systems on the ClearDATA Secure Cloud, resolving common requests such as access issues, account changes, and low-risk fixes using established runbooks and procedures.
- Investigate and resolve incidents that go beyond standard runbooks, digging into logs and performance metrics to diagnose complex issues and restore service quickly.
- Author, test, and carry out approved infrastructure change requests, verifying each change so updates do not introduce new problems or downtime.
- Tune monitoring and alerting to improve signal-to-noise, and implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools like Terraform or native cloud templates.
- Ensure all cloud deployments strictly follow healthcare compliance frameworks and internal security standards.
- Maintain clear ticket records and technical documentation, contribute to and update runbooks and SOPs, and participate in shift handoffs.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering or systems administration experience, with comfort working from runbooks and SOPs as well as troubleshooting independently when an issue falls outside them.
- Solid, practical knowledge of at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP), with a willingness to learn and troubleshoot across all three as used within the ClearDATA Secure Cloud platform.
- Strong background in core IT operations, including networking, identity and access management, and operating system administration for both Linux and Windows.
- Working proficiency in scripting (such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell) and an interest in building infrastructure automation.
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and patiently with customers, providing timely updates and a positive frontline support experience during technical issues.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal), ability to work independently, and critical thinking.
Nice to have
- Professional level certifications in AWS, Azure, or GCP.
