Overview
Cloud Systems Engineer II role focused on architecting, deploying, and maintaining scalable infrastructure across AWS and GCP.
What you'll do
- Architect, deploy, and maintain scalable, highly available infrastructure on AWS and GCP.
- Manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and enforce IaC standards.
- Develop automation tooling and internal platforms using Python to reduce manual effort.
- Design and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions/workflows.
- Monitor system performance and availability, participate in on-call, and lead post-incident reviews.
- Collaborate with development, security, and networking teams to evaluate and adopt cloud services.
What you'll need
- 5+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience.
- Significant depth in AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, EBS, S3, Lambda, IAM, and VPC.
- Working knowledge of GCP.
- Ability to write Terraform modules, manage state, enforce policy, and review IaC PRs.
- Primary scripting/automation language: Python.
- Linux system administration, networking fundamentals, and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS).
Nice to have
- Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- Familiarity with observability stacks such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or CheckMK.
- Knowledge of service mesh or advanced networking patterns (e.g., AWS Transit Gateway, PrivateLink, GCP VPC peering).
- Experience with cost management tools and FinOps practices in large AWS environments.
