Overview
The Control and Instrumentation Engineer procures and designs instrumentation and controls for ELLIOTT GROUP rotating equipment packages. The role supports contract execution within project budgets and schedules, handles technical issues and customer contact, and may support a Lead Engineer on large or complex projects.
What you'll do
- Ensure proper procurement and design of instrumentation and controls for rotating equipment packages.
- Manage project schedules, budgets, time management and communication with internal ELLIOTT GROUP teams and external customers.
- Interface between the Project Engineer, suppliers and internal and external customers.
- Provide engineering support to Project Engineering and support Lead Engineers on large or complex projects.
- Collect, analyse and communicate detailed technical information for assigned projects.
- Provide technical support for instrumentation and control issues and act as the primary technical contact for related sub-suppliers.
- Direct design staff, junior engineers and document control staff, and provide direction or mentoring to interns, rotational engineers and Engineer I or Engineer II Control and Instrumentation Engineers as required.
- Review customer specifications and revise and submit internal design specification information.
- Create purchase requisitions and supporting technical documentation for material procurement.
- Participate in Project Transfer Meetings, Kick Off Meetings, HAZOP meetings, Customer Coordination Meetings, Pre-Inspection Meetings and Design Review Meetings.
- Facilitate major supplier meetings with clients and ELLIOTT personnel with assistance from the Project Manager.
- Prepare correspondence, documents and information for client approval or record through the Project Engineer.
- Retain sufficient project information for downstream internal and external operations.
- Generate controls design documentation, including Block Diagrams, I/O lists, termination Lists, Logic Diagrams, Control Narrative, user Manuals and Test Procedures.
- Interpret customer specifications, requisition components and develop electrical and instrumentation design drawings and documents with the drafting team.
- Participate in and perform Quality Reviews of controls design documentation.
- Review and approve programming and configuration of PLCs, HMIs and Governors produced by ELLIOTT subcontractors.
- Participate in Panel Factory Acceptance Tests and customer Witness Testing of completed control panels.
- Create and maintain project schedules.
- Keep the Engineering Supervisor, Project Engineer and Project Manager informed of project status and issues.
- Follow Project Engineering processes and procedures and provide input for continuous improvement initiatives.
- Develop technical competence, personal development and career growth through an individualized career plan and goals.

What you'll need
- Bachelor of Engineering or Technology or an equivalent four-year degree from a reputed educational institution or university.
- Minimum of typically two (2) to twelve (12) or more years of experience as a Controls and/or Instrument Engineer, or equivalent experience.
- Fresh graduates can be evaluated for an entry-level Engineer I position.
- Demonstrated leadership ability.

Details
- Location: Bangalore, India.
- Expected travel is around 10–15% typically.
- Additional work hours or temporary schedule adjustment may be required.
- Regular contact includes Project Engineering, Project Management, Controls, Engineering, Purchasing and Project COEs, Packaging Solutions, Sales, Applications and Business Development.
- Contact with Sodegaura Facility, clients, potential clients, end-users, purchasers, engineering contractors, third-party engineering firms, client suppliers and regulatory agencies is initially directly supervised and continuously monitored by senior staff.
- Communications and contact are expected to be strictly technical; commercial or contractual communications must be directed by senior ELLIOTT staff.
