Core Operations - Vice President

Overview

Vice President role overseeing multiple Transaction Services teams, providing guidance and leadership while driving strategy, execution, governance and client service across operations, technology and client relationship teams.

What you'll do

• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end, including strategy development, execution, and reporting.
• Collaborate with Business and Global Operations leads to identify resources required to support and deliver transition and change management projects.
• Establish and nurture a culture of 'Risk Excellence' within the team, encouraging openness that welcomes effective challenge and supports open discussion.
• Establish and monitor systems of control, delegated authority and escalation procedures so the business complies with internal policies and external regulation.
• Represent Transaction Services in meetings with clients and other State Street business lines.
• Identify opportunities for product automation based on service requirements and products offered.
• Effectively communicate with stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion, and set and continually manage expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
• Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise team members, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
• Understand, follow, and demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal policies and procedures, and provide input to the further development of best practices.
• Collaborate with appropriate teams globally to ensure consistent service delivery, client solutions and client satisfaction.
• Identify, develop, and deploy process improvements leading to service level improvements and/or unit cost and operational risk reduction.
• Support new business onboarding, change management and strategic business initiatives using sound program and project management skills.
• Establish and nurture a culture of individual ownership of tasks, embedding a clear sense of accountability into staff behavior.

What you'll need

• 15+ years of experience in staff management and leading projects.
• Proven track record of related industry experience in Trade Settlements, Trade Processing or Trade Capture.
• Working at senior levels in an organization, with the capability of communicating effectively.
• Experience working in matrix structures and cross-cultural environments, with an ability to operate on their own and as part of a team.
• Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of the asset management industry and the processes that support it.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Bachelor's/Master's degree in a business discipline or equivalent work experience.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Nice to have

• Exposure to Screening, Trade/Cash Processing, Agent Bank Operations, Client Service Teams, or Lending Operations.
• Understanding of various financial products, including Equity, Fixed Income (Repos), Money Market Instruments, and Foreign Exchange.
• Strong influencing and negotiating skills when dealing with stakeholders, internal or external.
• Knowledge of State Street systems and processes.
• Prior experience in developing executive communication.
