Credit Risk Analyst

Overview

Credit Risk Analyst for Coinbase’s Counterparty and Credit Risk team within Financial & Operational Risk.

What you'll do

• Own diligence and underwriting of institutional counterparties (e.g., hedge funds, asset managers, private equity, venture capital).
• Recommend internal credit ratings and risk-based limits with written analysis for senior leadership review.
• Monitor portfolio exposures and conduct periodic surveillance of trading partners.
• Communicate concentration trends and settlement risks to leadership.
• Analyze asset volatility and liquidity risks per asset and portfolio to inform limit-setting and capital planning.
• Negotiate industry documentation (e.g., PBAs, MLAs, ACAs) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve client/product challenges.

What you'll need

• 1-3 years of hands-on credit risk management experience, including counterparty underwriting or portfolio monitoring.
• Prior experience covering institutional clients (hedge funds, asset managers, private equity, or venture capital).
• Working knowledge of capital markets products and standard industry documentation (PBAs, MLAs, prime brokerage agreements).
• Ability to produce clear written credit memos and present risk recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Proficiency building quantitative credit models and exposure analyses using spreadsheets and SQL or other analytical tools.
• Responsible use of generative AI with human oversight for business-ready outputs and workflow improvements.
