Data Engineer II

Overview

Data Engineer II role within the Kraft Heinz Information Technology organization, building data pipelines that drive analytic solutions and data-driven decision-making across the enterprise. An individual contributor role that owns features and pipelines end-to-end within a project.

What you'll do

• Develop and operate modern data engineering solutions to meet key business objectives.
• Contribute to generic frameworks for data ingestion, data processing, data integrations, and data governance.
• Follow best practices for software design, architecture, and implementation.
• Conduct code reviews, providing feedback on logic, design patterns, and correctness with constructive commentary.
• Leverage monitoring tools and processes to ensure platform stability and operational SLAs.
• Extend DevOps capabilities for deploying data solutions.
• Support creation and adoption of data assets for the organization.
• Work with product owners to address or prevent common pitfalls.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Business, Information Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 1+ years of experience in role delivering and supporting software and data engineering capabilities.
• Exposure to design and software programming development (design patterns, framework development, etc.).
• Good in core Python programming language skills (not limited to PySpark or analytical libraries).
• Good SQL development and analytical skills.
• Understanding of object-oriented programming principles.
• Knowledge of automated code testing (pytest / unittest) and data testing (great expectations / dbt / etc.).
• Hands-on exposure to analytical tools and services (dbt, Snowflake/BigQuery, Tableau/PowerBI).
• 1+ years of working building enterprise data solutions.
• Proven experience creating data assets used in mission-critical applications.
• Experienced in Agile methodologies.
• Experience being a member of cross-functional teams.
• Strong collaborator, team player, and individual contributor.
• Strong communication skills with comfort in speaking with business stakeholders.
• Strong problem solver with ability to manage and lead the team to push the solution and drive progress.
