Developer Advocate - Service Management EMEA

Overview

Developer Advocate for Service Management in EMEA, acting as a service-management subject matter expert and creating advocacy content for Datadog.

What you'll do

• Act as a subject matter expert for service management topics for Datadog’s advocacy and engineering teams.
• Create content across multiple mediums (e.g., demos, public speaking, blogging, documentation, webinars, open source, research reports).
• Partner with product engineering teams to build demos and coach internal teams on communication and presentation.
• Interface with open source communities to drive key messaging and develop new integrations.
• Contribute to the product via feedback, documentation, or code.

What you'll need

• Approximately 5+ years of experience as a Platform Engineer, Site Reliability Engineer, DevOps Engineer, or Software Developer.
• Hands-on experience as an on-call/incident responder and running production systems in complex IT environments.
• Strong understanding of service-management practices including incident response, on-call, post-incident reviews, and SLOs.
• Experience with tools such as Datadog, PagerDuty, Opsgenie, incident.io, Rootly, Jira Cloud Platform, Cortex, or similar.
• Approximately 2+ years of experience in storytelling and creating compelling content.
• Comfort with at least one scripting/programming language (e.g., Node.js, Python, Go, bash) and familiarity with APIs and modern infrastructure.
• Publicly available writing samples, blog posts, demos, or recordings of presentations on technical topics.

Nice to have

• Hands-on ITSM platform experience (ServiceNow, Jira Service Management).
• Active member of SRE, DevOps, or incident-response communities.
