Digital Customer Experience Engineer

Overview

Build and maintain automated data processes for Caterpillar’s Wear & Maintenance (W&M) digital and AI capabilities, ensuring data quality and reliability across customer/dealer experiences.

What you'll do

• Maintain and automate the W&M data layer from parts information through compatibility to service options.
• Develop SQL and Python transformations and automation, and validate pipeline outputs.
• Support data analytics and quality tracking by monitoring coverage, completeness, and accuracy.
• Use AI-assisted tooling to accelerate data maintenance, classification, and enrichment with human review.
• Contribute to W&M domain data quality by remediating defects and improving coverage.
• Communicate data status and quality metrics to stakeholders across teams and geographies.

What you'll need

• At least 3+ years of experience in data management, engineering, or analytics.
• Hands-on proficiency with SQL and Python for querying, transforming, and automating data workflows.
• Experience with data platforms and pipelines (e.g., Snowflake, SQL, ETL) and turning data into trustworthy results.
• Ability to build Snowflake database objects (views, tables, stored procedures, etc.).
• Ability to build pipelines leveraging machine learning and/or AI agents for business logic and data quality.
• Interest and aptitude for AI-assisted data tooling (e.g., MCP, LLM-based tools) to accelerate maintenance and quality.
• Strong attention to detail and a track record of improving data quality, coverage, and consistency.

Details

• Onsite role at Caterpillar office in Chennai, India.
• Up to 10% travel may be required.
• Working onsite five days a week.
