Director, Blockchain Engineering - Digital Assets

Overview

Lead the Fidelity Digital Asset Management (FDAM) engineering teams in India, partnering with business, global technology and Asset Management Technology teams to deliver a best-in-class product supporting the FDAM business.

What you'll do

• Work in partnership with business users, AM Architecture and Engineering teams to design and build end-to-end solutions for the FHA technology teams.
• Partner with other key team members and AM teams to provide strategic direction to execute the multi-year product roadmap.
• In partnership with the global Engineering Managers, help advance and support product, delivery and technical practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and automated testing within your team and across the organization.
• Manage the team's priorities and provide technical expertise, direction and engineering excellence.
• Act as a single point of accountability for Engineering practices and ensure appropriate governance is in place.
• Demonstrate a deep passion for software engineering and the asset management domain, and tap into the expertise of the engineering team.
• Drive innovation that contributes to business value through scale and efficiency, business growth and/or investment performance.
• Triage and manage business impact of production issues.
• Bring new solutions to users on a regular cadence, retire obsolete solutions and maintain a cutting-edge tech stack.
• Identify opportunities to bring emerging technologies and solutions to meet business objectives.

What you'll need

• 12+ years of experience.
• Extensive experience designing and developing enterprise-grade distributed applications using Java/J2EE technologies.
• Understanding and application of fundamental design principles behind a scalable, low-latency, high-throughput distributed application.
• Familiarity with various design and architectural patterns and their application.
• Champion best practices for engineering excellence and promote a DevOps mindset.
• Relevant experience with cloud computing and emerging technologies.
• Relevant experience working with Agile teams.
• Effective influencing and communication skills to lead a high-performing technology team.
• Comfortable working with cross-functional team members and promote the notion of full-stack engineers.
• Demonstrated ability to lead from the front, motivate and empower your team to deliver the best.
• Prior experience collaborating with global technology and business partners.

Nice to have

• Knowhow of PL/SQL.
• Experience with AWS Cloud.
• Experience working on DeFi protocols, digital assets and blockchain technology.
