Job description

Overview

Lead a group of Legal Technology Products spanning Legal Operations and Intellectual Property within the Legal, Compliance & WREF Digital & Tech domain, translating functional strategies into product roadmaps and directing Product Owners.

What you'll do

  • Translate functional strategies from the SD, Legal, Compliance & WREF Digital & Tech into actionable product roadmaps and delivery priorities across Legal Operations, Intellectual Property and the Legal AI Platform products.
  • Provide leadership, direction and coaching to Product Owners on well-defined requirements, robust investment business cases, prioritised backlogs, architectural guidance, compliance needs, data-driven decisions, FinOps considerations and domain ecosystem dependencies.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand pain points, process challenges and improvement needs, shaping product enhancements and technology-enabled opportunities.
  • Oversee delivery execution across the Legal product group, ensuring quality, usability, stability and supportability of released features and services.
  • Promote agile and iterative delivery practices (e.g. SaFe, Scrum), supporting incremental value release and transparency of priorities.
  • Provide product leadership to multiple delivery initiatives at one time.
  • Act as the escalation point for critical product performance, delivery issues and dependency conflicts.
  • Champion user-centred improvements, Legal business process optimisation and automation/AI opportunities that reduce cycle time and enhance user experience.
  • Ensure effective, defensible risk, security and compliance management (e.g. ISO controls, GDPR, legal privilege, information governance) across the Legal product group, in partnership with Security, Risk, Legal and Compliance SMEs.
  • Support Solution Architects in shaping cross-product and cross-platform solutions, ensuring Product Owners manage dependencies.
  • Track and report performance against agreed KPIs for the Legal product group and drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide financial oversight of the Legal product group, including product budgets and internal/external team resourcing costs.
  • Lead the innovation agenda across Legal and IP products, keeping abreast of advancements in the Legal technology ecosystem.
  • Ensure investment requests in Legal technology follow the Legal & Compliance Tech & AI board governance, partnering with business leaders on plans and designs for approval.
  • Champion the use of AI, automation and technology in the Legal & Compliance function, role-modelling responsible use of approved AI tools in line with GSK's Responsible AI, privacy and security requirements.

What you'll need

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Information Technology, or Engineering), or equivalent experience.
  • Extensive experience: 18+ years overseeing end-to-end product delivery, including prioritisation, backlog management, solution design support, testing oversight and value-focused release planning, with clear focus on Legal Tech.
  • Proven track record overseeing the definition and execution of Legal technology systems in a company of similar size and scale to GSK, realising tangible business benefits.
  • Deep experience concurrently overseeing multiple Product teams across the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements elicitation through to release.
  • Proficient in conveying complex technology ideas to non-conversant audiences.
  • Very strong analytical and problem-solving skills for developing product use cases and determining their associated value.
  • Highly experienced team leader able to effectively manage small to medium IT delivery teams.
  • Very strong communication skills and ability to influence senior stakeholders, aligning competing priorities and guiding Business teams on feasibility of requests versus technology constraints.

Nice to have

  • Industry certifications (e.g. Agile Methodologies, CPM).
  • Strong communication and influencing skills, able to guide prioritisation decisions, resolve delivery conflicts and align stakeholders around shared product outcomes.
  • Skilled in coaching and developing Product Owners, fostering user-centred design, value-based delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Able to interpret business processes, regulatory needs and operational insights to identify optimisation and automation opportunities.
  • Comfortable working within structured governance, security and compliance constraints.

Details

  • Location: Bengaluru Luxor North Tower.
  • Hybrid working under GSK's "Performance with Choice" approach, typically 2–3 days per week in the office, pattern agreed with manager.
