Overview
As a Distinguished Engineer / Technical Fellow, you lead the primary architecture of Armada’s long-term technical vision and drive R&D across core products and “Next Horizon” projects.
What you'll do
- Lead the evolution of the Armada Edge Platform (AEP) for orchestration of compute and AI workloads in distributed, high-latency, and disconnected environments.
- Drive the architectural roadmap for initiatives including Data Centers in Space.
- Co-design deep-tech solutions with strategic industry partners to integrate Armada’s technology into their ecosystems.
- Define a 3–5 year technical roadmap with leadership, focusing on technologies for high-density GPU orchestration and orbital data processing.
- Serve as the final escalation point for complex architectural challenges in real-time streaming, computer vision, and network-aware workload distribution.
- Lead proof-of-concepts, including in-orbit inference and secure Earth-to-space data orchestration.
- Mentor Staff and Principal engineers to elevate engineering rigor and performance.
What you'll need
- 15+ years of software engineering experience, including Distinguished Engineer/Fellow or equivalent senior technical leadership.
- Deep understanding of data center operations, compute architectures (CPU/GPU/NPU), and AI infrastructure at scale.
- Expert-level distributed systems and data storage knowledge for resource-constrained, remote, or “denied” environments.
- Mastery of Go, C++, or Rust, including how software interacts with physical compute and non-terrestrial networking layers.
- Proven ability to partner across company lines to build technical solutions that drive adoption and industry standards.
Nice to have
- Deep understanding of networking stacks optimized for satellite and terrestrial mesh networks.
- Interest or experience in orbital mechanics, radiation-tolerant software design, or space-based communication protocols.
- Experience building “Day 2” operations for fleets of thousands of remote, distributed devices in harsh environments.
