Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

Electrical Design Engineer role within the Electrification business of ABB's Distribution Solutions division, based at Nashik, India. The role creates and modifies standard designs of equipment, systems or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication or construction.

What you'll do

• Create and modify standard designs of equipment, systems, or installations, including standard specifications for manufacturing, fabrication, or construction, using standard design concepts.
• Design engineering solutions, including drawings and calculations, according to contract specifications.
• Contribute to design reviews and design verification, and modify the design as necessary.
• Contribute to the preparation of specific aspects of design assignments to meet contractual obligations, adhering to relevant standards, safety, cybersecurity, and quality requirements.
• Ensure that the Bill of Materials for the project meets contractual obligations and project gross margin requirements by not generating Project Left-Over Material.
• Coordinate with manufacturing and testing functions to ensure designs are appropriately manufactured, staged and tested, and update engineering deliverables as built.
• Use standard processes and tools and assist in developing new processes and tools for the reuse of technical solutions.

What you'll need

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (full-time).
• 3 to 5 years of experience in design and development of MV Switchgear (AIS).
• Hands-on experience in preparing Bill of Material (BOM), schematics, Single Line Diagram (SLD) and manufacturing releases.
• Enhanced knowledge of EPlan software.
• Ease of communicating in English.
