Electrification Services Application Engineer

Overview

Electrification Services Application Engineer providing technical support for field services proposal development for power delivery, power utilization, and automation equipment and systems.

What you'll do

• Identify and develop new business opportunities and contribute to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals.
• Develop and present technical solutions aligned with customer needs and prepare proposal content on scope, benefits, and compliance.
• Provide technical leadership for Field Service proposals, including site assessments, material/labor requirements, competitive analysis, and support for engineering scopes, schedules, and cost estimates.
• Communicate fulfillment requirements to sourcing and operations and document competitor activities.
• Support NPI programs to maintain a strong market position.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree (Engineering or Electrical Engineering preferred) with 6 years of experience OR a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 10 years of experience.
• Experience in application engineering or field engineering in power delivery products and systems.
• Customer experience in Oil & Gas, metals, mining, paper, Power Gen, data center, commercial building, or similar segments (preferred).
• Strong oral and written communication skills for presentations and engagement across organizational levels.
• Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with a customer-focused mindset.
• Ability to develop and write technical specifications and proposals leveraging the full ABB portfolio.

Details

• Reports to EL Sales Support Manager - Commercial Operations.
• Work model: remote supporting several states in the West Region (CA, HI).
• Living options within California; ability and willingness to travel 50% of the time within the coverage area is required.
• Work authorization: must have work authorization to work for ABB in the US.
