Overview
Test / V&V Engineer to verify and validate chassis ECUs, including suspension control and Electronic Braking System (EBS), with OTA software flashing, on both ICE and EV vehicles.
What you'll do
- Analyse system, software and safety requirements and create test plans, test specifications and test cases.
- Write and execute vehicle-level test cases covering vehicle stability, battery/power supply conditions, life and durability effects, and edge/corner cases.
- Validate suspension control functions: damper control (CDC), air suspension and ride-height levelling, active roll control, drive-mode switching and fail-safe behaviour.
- Validate EBS functions: ABS, ESC, TCS, EBD, hill-hold, brake requests from ADAS, and regen–friction brake blending on EVs.
- Validate OTA and UDS flashing: download, authentication, A/B partition switch, rollback, interruption/power-loss recovery and flashing preconditions.
- Design and perform fault-injection tests (sensor, actuator, CAN communication, power supply, software and memory faults) on SIL, HIL, bench and vehicle.
- Verify fault detection, DTC storage, warning lamps, fault reaction time and safe-state entry within FTTI.
- Test across ICE (12 V system, cranking) and EV (HV battery, BMS, DC-DC, regen) specific conditions.
- Automate test cases and regression suites using Python, CAPL or ECU-TEST.
- Maintain requirement-to-test traceability and report defects; support root-cause analysis with development teams.
- Prepare test reports and support release sign-off and homologation evidence.
What you'll need
- B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
- 5–7 years of automotive ECU validation, with at least 3 years in chassis (suspension and/or braking).
- Hands-on HIL/SIL testing (dSPACE, NI or Vector VT System) and in-vehicle testing.
- Strong with Vector CANoe/CANalyzer, CAPL, and INCA or CANape.
- Good knowledge of CAN, CAN-FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet/DoIP, UDS (ISO 14229) and OBD diagnostics.
- Experience with ECU reprogramming and OTA: bootloader, secure flashing, A/B partitions and rollback.
- Experience with fault-injection tools: FIU, break-out box, programmable power supply, CAN disturbance tools.
- Working knowledge of ISO 26262, ASPICE and ISO/SAE 21434.
- Test management and defect tools such as Polarion, DOORS, JIRA.
- Scripting in Python or CAPL.
Nice to have
- EV experience: HV battery behaviour, BMS signals, regen braking, DC-DC converter faults.
- Vehicle dynamics basics: yaw, slip, roll, pitch, ride and handling.
- Experience with CarMaker, MATLAB/Simulink, Jenkins/CI.
- Test track experience (lane change, sine-with-dwell, split-µ, low-µ, winter testing).
- Valid driving licence; track or advanced driving certification.
Details
- Location: Bangalore.
- Willingness to travel to test tracks and vehicle test sites.
