Engineer 2 - Mechanical Component

Overview

Engineer 2 responsible for product design and requisition engineering of Drives products, with a focus on mechanical design.

What you'll do

• Perform concept and basic mechanical design, including packaging of electrical components.
• Perform detail engineering and validation of designs.
• Support NPI, localization and development of Drives products in mechanical engineering.
• Execute cost-out and DMP activities.
• Ensure OTD and FTY of deliverables.
• Apply technical and risk management expertise.
• Lead work with cross-functional teams and global assignments.
• Motivate others to achieve results and influence stakeholders.
• Find solutions for critical problems as a self-starter and initiator.
• Present and communicate effectively in English.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering; Mechanical or CAD design preferred.
• 5-15 years of mechanical design with development expertise in LV/MV drives.
• Experience and in-depth knowledge in requisition engineering and cost reduction exercises.
• Expertise in localization and VA/VE.
• Expertise in new conceptualization, layout and equipment design/optimization with required technical specifications.
• Good knowledge of CAD tools, sheet metal design and international standards/GD&T.
• Exposure to manufacturing processes and quality standards.
• Leadership and ability to motivate others to achieve results.
• Strong influencing skills.
• Lead experience working with cross-functional teams and global assignments.
• High motivation.
• Excellent presentation and communication skills.
• Fluency in English.

Nice to have

• Good knowledge and understanding of simulation tools.
• Exposure to DFMEA and DFM.
• Six Sigma – DMAIC or DFSS.
• Ability to energize teams and perceive change as an opportunity.
• Ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse and highly matrix environment.
