Engineer - C++/embedded and AI/ML

Overview

Software engineer role in Qualcomm's Machine Learning team, developing and commercializing ML solutions such as the Snapdragon Neural Processing Engine (SNPE) SDK on Qualcomm SoCs.

What you'll do

• Develop and commercialize ML solutions such as the Snapdragon Neural Processing Engine (SNPE) SDK on Qualcomm SoCs.
• Develop various software features in the ML stack.
• Enable AI/ML solutions on various platforms.
• Apply expert knowledge in deploying large software C/C++ dependency stacks using best practices.
• Keep up with fast-paced development in industry and academia to continuously enhance the solution from software engineering and machine learning standpoints.
• Design, develop, create, modify, and validate embedded and cloud edge software, applications, and/or specialized utility programs.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, architecture, test engineers, and other teams to design system-level software solutions and obtain information on performance requirements and interfaces.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, OR Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience, OR PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
• 2+ years of academic or work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
• 3-7 years of relevant work experience in software development.
• Live and breathe quality software development with excellent analytical and debugging skills.
• Strong understanding of processor architecture and system design fundamentals.
• Experience with embedded systems development or equivalent.
• Strong development skills in C and C++.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal, presentation, written).
• Ability to collaborate across a globally diverse team and multiple interests.

Nice to have

• Experience in embedded system development.
• Experience in C, C++, OOPS and design patterns.
• Experience in Linux kernel or driver development.
• Strong OS concepts.
