Overview
Engineer I for Amex GBT’s Meetings and Events technology portfolio, delivering hands-on software development and testing within an agile team.
What you'll do
- Perform hands-on software development and testing.
- Drive user story analysis, elaboration, design, development, and builds.
- Automate testing/builds and create automation tools.
- Refactor code and drive continuous improvement in code structure and quality.
- Write code, create API specifications, conduct code reviews, and test in ongoing sprints.
- Maintain a technical requirements list for the product backlog based on trends, technologies, defects, and issues.
- Liaise with the technical product manager to support backlog prioritization for sprints.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer-related discipline or 5 years of IT work experience in a global information technology infrastructure environment.
- Minimum 5 years of IT experience with 2 years of focused development experience on Meetings and Events applications in a Business Travel Industry.
- Willingness to work 2nd shifts (3:00 PM IST to 12:00 AM IST) and occasional weekends.
- Willingness to work from Bangalore office location at least 3 days a week.
- Experience with Agile or other rapid application development methods.
- Object-oriented design and coding skills with priority on Microsoft Technologies (/.NET C#, SOA/Web Services, SSRS, SSIS, REST APIs, JSON, HTML/HTML5, CSS3, XML, AJAX, jQuery, JavaScript, AngularJS, Selenium, Python, J2EE).
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and business product managers on solution design.

- Location: Bangalore, India.
- Shift: 2nd shift (3:00 PM IST to 12:00 AM IST); occasional weekends.
- Work: from Bangalore office at least 3 days per week.
