Engineer II - Software Development

Overview

Engineer II - Software Development responsible for developing firmware and supporting device programming tools for Microchip microcontrollers.

What you'll do

• Develop firmware for debuggers and programmers for Microchip microcontrollers.
• Develop firmware for new hardware tools.
• Understand device programming specifications.
• Work with design and application teams to understand specifications and requirements for tool support.
• Add new part support and features into existing tools.
• Develop and perform unit tests for new device support.
• Unit test new part support.
• Update automated test scripts for new devices.
• Support internal and external customers.
• Work with global teams.

What you'll need

• BE or equivalent degree in Electronics or allied branches.
• 2 to 6 years of experience in firmware development.
• Knowledge of microcontroller PIC, dsPIC, ARM or AVR architecture.
• Good communication skills.
• Good knowledge of the C and assembly programming languages.

Nice to have

• Hardware design knowledge and understanding of schematics will have advantage.
• Knowledge of any scripting language will be plus.
