Engineer- MV Design

Overview

Design and development of mechanical and electrical sub-systems for Medium Voltage Air Circuit Breakers and molded case circuit breakers, including mechanism design, sensor selection and integration, and control of mechanical devices.

What you'll do

• Participate in all phases of the product development lifecycle (Requirements, Design, Testing, and Release) following a structured engineering process to ensure quality and reliability.
• Collaborate with external and internal customers, such as Product Management, Field Service, Operations and other Engineering teams during the product development life cycle.
• Responsible for design, development and testing of MV circuit breaker sub-systems such as mechanism, VI selection, contact system etc.
• Design sheet metal and plastic parts, and select and integrate different sensors.
• Drive technology design with a team of engineers both locally and remotely.
• Leverage Design for Six Sigma for reliable and on-time launch of projects.
• Analyze data.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's or M.Tech degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of design and development experience related to sub-systems such as mechanism, VI selection, and accessories used in products like MV circuit breakers.
• A minimum of 2-4 years of experience in MV circuit breaker sub-system design and sensor integration within circuit breaker and measurement.
• Experience in plastic and sheet metal parts.
• Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodology with examples of practical application.
• Understanding of basic mechanism and basics of MV circuit breakers.
• Hands-on experience in mechanism design.
• Hands-on experience with breaker mechanical testing.
• Thorough understanding of breaker mechanical characteristics.
• Understanding of control wiring and components.
• Design and development experience related to products like MV circuit breaker.
• Knowledge in manufacturing of sheet metal and plastic parts.
• Good knowledge of PLM such as ENOVIA and modeling software Creo 7.0.
• Good communication skills in English (verbal and written) to communicate information effectively to customers and technical staff.
