Overview
Lead large IoT projects based on Linux and drive software products for new SoCs from pre-silicon through commercialization with customers. Work hands-on across software conceptualization, development, debugging, system architecture and end-to-end delivery.
What you'll do
- Lead, deliver and drive large IoT projects based on Linux.
- Work with large, diversified engineering teams, product marketing, business teams and Customer Engineering teams.
- Manage the project life cycle end-to-end, from software conceptualization to product commercialization with customers.
- Execute software products for new SoCs from pre-silicon through commercialization.
- Take a hands-on approach to understand intricate issues, debug them and drive them to closure.
- Develop, design and implement software using C/C++, Android/Linux, drivers/frameworks and the end-to-end software stack.
- Work with system architecture, kernel development, device drivers, chipset architecture and end-to-end system aspects from a software perspective.
- Work across one or more areas including Multimedia, Linux, Core Platform, Ethernet Protocols, and Power/Performance.
- Troubleshoot software and system issues.
- Complete the full software development life cycle, including design, implementation, deployment and support.
- Collaborate across teams using deductive problem solving and verbal and written communication.
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 6+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, or Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience, or PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 4+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.
- 3+ years of work experience with a programming language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
- Strong development experience with C/C++ and good programming skills.
- Strong communication skills and analytics skills.
- Proven experience in Linux development, with a strong focus on Yocto, Ubuntu and Debian distributions.
- Strong hands-on experience with Ubuntu and RedHat-like Linux distributions.
- Understanding of Linux-related concepts such as systemd, SELinux, Snaps, sandboxing, containers and Docker.
- Strong understanding of the Linux kernel and internals.
- Strong understanding of SoC systems and related concepts, including bring-up.
- Good know-how of Multimedia subsystems such as Camera, Video, Audio, Display and Graphics.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong hands-on experience with troubleshooting software and system issues.
- Strong aptitude, quick learning ability, self-motivation and willingness to explore and work across a breadth of technology areas.
