Engineering Manager

Overview

Lead and manage engineering teams delivering high-quality software solutions, driving technical excellence and innovation, and aligning technical decisions with business objectives. The role also drives adoption of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic flows across enterprise business solutions.

What you'll do

• Lead engineering teams effectively, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture to achieve project goals and organizational objectives.
• Oversee timelines, team allocation, risk management and task prioritization to deliver solutions within scope, time and budget.
• Mentor and support team members' professional growth, conduct performance reviews and provide actionable feedback.
• Evaluate and enhance engineering processes, tools and methodologies to increase efficiency, streamline workflows and optimize team productivity.
• Collaborate with business partners, product managers, designers and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Enforce technology standards, facilitate peer reviews and implement robust testing practices.
• Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership and senior management, on functional and cross-functional areas of impact and alignment.
• Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
• Plan resources, budgets and policies; manage and maintain policies and processes; deliver continuous improvements and escalate breaches of policies or procedures.
• If managing a team, define jobs and responsibilities, plan for the department's future needs, counsel employees on performance and contribute to employee pay decisions.
• Drive adoption of Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic flows, focusing on process efficiencies, automation, simplification and risk reduction across enterprise business solutions.

What you'll need

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology or Engineering.
• Strong understanding of Language Models (LLMs), transformers, agentic frameworks, vector stores and search algorithms.
• Strong proficiency in Python for agentic and GenAI work, including frameworks such as LangChain, LangGraph or CrewAI.
• Hands-on experience with the AWS ML ecosystem (Bedrock, SageMaker, Lambda, API Gateway).
• Good engineering experience with high-performance, large-scale AI/ML systems.
• Deep understanding of prompt engineering and prompt management.
• Experience with database technologies such as SQL, NoSQL and vector databases (e.g., DynamoDB, PGVector, ChromaDB, FAISS).
• Familiarity with one of the major cloud platforms: AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Experience in model risk management and guardrails development.

Nice to have

• Professional experience in financial services and technology firms.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, JSON/XML, CI/CD tools (Jenkins) and cloud-native architectures.
• Demonstrated ability to structure and lead, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Motivated quick learner with the ability to learn new skills.
• Ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior developers.
