Overview
Lead the global engineering function for Eaton’s Vehicle Control & Wireless product lines within the Low Voltage & Power Conversion group in the eMobility business. Direct a global multidisciplinary team of 20+ engineers responsible for new product and technology development, product launches, and current-product engineering across switches, keypads, electronic control modules, wireless and connected devices, and associated embedded hardware and software.
What you'll do
- Define long-term product, technology, and engineering strategies with Vehicle Control & Wireless business leadership and translate them into actionable roadmaps.
- Lead global, multidisciplinary engineering teams across systems, electronics, embedded software, mechanical design, validation, and product engineering.
- Own engineering execution for new product development, technology maturation, product launches, and sustaining programs, ensuring delivery to scope, schedule, cost, quality, and performance commitments.
- Engage with global OEM and commercial customers to understand application needs, strengthen customer intimacy, resolve critical technical issues, and identify opportunities for portfolio growth.
- Advance architectures and platforms for vehicle controls and connected products, emphasizing functional safety, cybersecurity, wireless connectivity, diagnostics, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
- Drive Design for Six Sigma, model-based and digital engineering, requirements management, design reviews, verification and validation, and Eaton’s stage-gate product development processes.
- Collaborate with Strategy, Product Management, Sales, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Program Management, and Finance to deliver growth and profitability objectives.
- Lead annual resource, capability, and budget planning, including people, software, hardware, test equipment, laboratories, external engineering, and global footprint optimization.
- Attract, develop, coach, engage, and retain diverse engineering talent and future organizational and technical leaders.
- Champion continuous improvement, standard work, knowledge sharing, and engineering functional excellence aligned with the Eaton Business System.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Automotive, or a related engineering discipline.
- 15+ years of engineering or product-development experience in a multinational organization, including leadership of multidisciplinary and geographically distributed teams.
- Demonstrated ability to influence global, cross-functional organizations and build trusted relationships with OEM customers and internal stakeholders.
- Vehicle electronics, controls, human-machine interfaces, embedded systems, connected products, wireless technologies, and automotive or commercial-vehicle applications.
- Low-voltage electronics and RF circuitry, including amplifiers, mixers, filters, PLL synthesizers, oscillators, modulators/demodulators, RF switches, reference oscillators, wireless transceiver architectures, and control systems.
- New product and technology development through structured stage-gate processes from concept and requirements through validation, launch, and sustaining engineering.
- Systems engineering, embedded hardware/software development, design verification, functional safety, cybersecurity, wireless compliance, and product-quality methods.
- Vehicle-market, technology, customer, and regulatory trends translated into competitive product and technology roadmaps.
- Strategic agility and business acumen.
