Engineering Manager, Application Security

Overview

Lead a team of Application Security engineers responsible for improving the security of Roblox products, services, and development ecosystem, partnering with engineering to manage risk across the software lifecycle.

What you'll do

• Lead and grow a team of Application Security engineers
• Drive security initiatives across Roblox's software development lifecycle
• Partner with engineering teams to identify and reduce security risks
• Establish and improve security practices, including reviews, testing, and secure design
• Build and scale security solutions through automation and developer tooling
• Mentor engineers and support their growth and performance
• Drive cross-functional efforts that improve security while maintaining developer velocity

What you'll need

• 8+ years of experience in Information Security
• 2+ years of experience managing engineers
• Strong background in Application Security or Product Security
• Experience driving security programs across the software development lifecycle
• Solid understanding of common vulnerabilities (e.g., OWASP Top 10) and secure coding practices
• Experience working closely with engineering teams in modern environments (cloud, microservices, CI/CD)
• Proven ability to lead projects from strategy through execution
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills

Details

• Reports to the Senior Manager of Application Security
• Based in San Mateo, CA with a hybrid schedule
• Office days: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday
• Annual salary range $295,250 — $345,040 USD
• Eligible for equity compensation and benefits
