Engineering Manager I, Commercial Audit

Overview

Engineering Manager I for Commercial Audit, leading a GRC engineering team focused on automating and scaling Datadog’s commercial security and compliance programs.

What you'll do

• Lead strategy, roadmap, and execution of Datadog’s Commercial Audit initiatives.
• Shift commercial security compliance work from manual audits to automated, scalable platforms and methodologies.
• Build, mentor, and grow a team of engineers and analysts in a GRC engineering direction.
• Operationalize a common control framework with Information Security and integrate it into Datadog’s architecture and processes.
• Develop internal tooling to automate evidence collection and dashboarding.
• Define and track program metrics such as control coverage, audit efficiency, and automation adoption.
• Embed compliance-by-design into infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-native service adoption.

What you'll need

• Experience leading or managing teams in security engineering, GRC, or risk management with AI-focused automation and tooling.
• Strong technical background to review code in Python and Go and understand architecture diagrams.
• Understanding of infrastructure including Kubernetes and AWS/GCP/Azure.
• Deep understanding of compliance areas such as HIPAA, SOC2, PCI, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP in cloud-native environments.
• Ability to translate complex technical or regulatory requirements into plain language for engineers, leadership, and auditors.
• Systems-thinking mindset focused on upstream root causes and downstream impacts.
• Experience in a SaaS or cloud infrastructure company with security scale and complexity.

Nice to have

• Prior experience working as an auditor (e.g., QSA) or directly facilitating audits.
