Enterprise Sales Engineer - FED

Overview

As an Enterprise Sales Engineer, you partner with Sales to lead technical evaluations, deliver demos, and guide customers from discovery through adoption of Datadog.

What you'll do

• Own the technical sales process in partnership with Account Executives.
• Lead customer discovery to uncover technical challenges, business goals, and success criteria.
• Deliver product demos and technical presentations tied to customer outcomes.
• Project manage technical evaluations (POVs) end-to-end, including scoping and defining success criteria.
• Identify and cultivate technical champions within customer accounts.
• Maintain operational excellence by documenting activity and deal progress in relevant systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Support, and GTM teams to resolve technical blockers and address customer needs.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a technical customer-facing role in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to navigate multi-stakeholder environments and communicate to technical, business, and executive audiences.
• Background in public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, and APM/tracing.
• Knowledge across security, developer experience, and observability.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to varied audiences.
• Consultative problem-solving and customer engagement approach.
• Willingness to travel as needed for customer engagements.
