Enterprise Sales Engineer - Rockies

Overview

Enterprise Sales Engineer partnering with Sales to deliver technical evaluations and compelling demos, guiding customers from discovery to adoption of Datadog solutions.

What you'll do

• Own the sales process with Account Executives by leading technical strategy across opportunities.
• Lead customer discovery to uncover technical challenges, business goals, and success criteria, then map needs to tailored Datadog solutions.
• Deliver engaging product demos, technical presentations, and workshops connecting platform capabilities to customer outcomes.
• Project manage technical evaluations (POVs) end-to-end, including scoping use cases, defining success criteria, and tracking timelines.
• Identify and cultivate technical champions within customer accounts to advocate for Datadog adoption and drive internal consensus.
• Maintain operational excellence by documenting activity, deal progress, and customer interactions in related systems.
• Collaborate with Product, Support, and GTM teams to address customer needs and resolve technical blockers.

What you'll need

• 5+ years of experience in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, or a technical customer-facing role in an enterprise environment.
• Ability to navigate multi-stakeholder environments and adapt communication to technical, business, and executive audiences.
• Proficiency with public cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Kubernetes, APM/tracing, security, developer experience, and observability.
• Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to a range of audiences.
• Consultative approach to problem-solving and customer engagement.
• Ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Growth mindset and willingness to embrace change and AI tools; willingness to travel as needed.
