Expert Software Engineer

Overview

Expert Software Engineer role focused on designing and delivering high-quality, testable software for modern web applications in financial messaging.

What you'll do

• Design, develop, and implement high-quality, testable code and oversee team members doing similar work.
• Create detailed software specifications and support, maintain, and document software functionality.
• Lead others to follow defined project plans and timescales in a fast-paced environment.
• Contribute to system design and architecture discussions to determine technical requirements.
• Resolve software problems with internal stakeholders independently.
• Develop and support junior/mid-level engineers in an Agile development environment.
• Participate in the conception, design, and implementation of modern web applications for financial messaging.

What you'll need

• 6+ years of professional experience in software development (or equivalent capabilities).
• Degree-level education in Computer Science or other technical related field.
• Proficiency in Python, Django, JavaScript (jQuery, Vue.js), MySQL, Linux, and SVN.
• Ability to work as a full stack developer using technologies including HTML and CSS for front end.
• Excellent knowledge of software development best practices, methodologies, processes, and tools.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills to lead others in problem resolution.
• Effective leadership, organizational, communication, and reporting skills with attention to detail.

Nice to have

• Experience with payment systems or banking/financial services domain.
