What you'll do
- Develop and configure Guidewire PolicyCenter components and React-based web applications to deliver end-to-end business functionality.
- Translate business and user experience requirements into maintainable back-end, integration and front-end components aligned with architectural direction and engineering standards.
- Build reusable React components, screens, forms and workflows using modern JavaScript or TypeScript, HTML, CSS or SCSS, and approved component libraries.
- Integrate digital applications with Guidewire and enterprise services using REST APIs, Guidewire Cloud APIs, Digital SDKs where applicable, messaging and secure authentication patterns.
- Review and validate code, configuration, component design, automated tests and supporting documentation produced by team members.
- Develop secure and reliable application components with attention to performance, accessibility, error handling, observability, restart and recovery, and efficient resource utilization.
- Perform impact assessments across business processes, data, Guidewire configuration, APIs, integrations, digital channels and downstream systems before implementing changes.
- Create unit, component, integration and end-to-end tests and apply Test-Driven Development or Behavior-Driven Development practices where appropriate.
- Support implementation and release activities, troubleshoot environment and production issues across Guidewire and React applications, perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Use source control, code quality tools, test automation, CI/CD pipelines and deployment tooling to improve delivery quality and efficiency.
- Provide limited technical guidance, knowledge sharing, code review support and mentoring to junior team members when needed.
- Write and refine user stories with clear technical tasks and acceptance criteria covering Guidewire, API, React and integration changes; estimate work and identify delivery risks.
- Partner with Product Owners, UX designers, solution engineers and QA team members to confirm that implementation and tests reflect intended business and user experience outcomes.
- Participate in PI Planning, Sprint Planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, system demos, retrospectives and Inspect and Adapt activities.
- Commit to team PI objectives and sprint goals, communicate progress and impediments, and take ownership of assigned deliverables.
- Demonstrate integrated PolicyCenter and digital functionality to Product and Business Owners and support iteration and PI System Demos.
- Share Guidewire and React engineering practices, contribute to Communities of Practice, and support continuous improvement and development of T-shaped skills.
