FBS Data Engineer with QA Automation

Overview

Data engineering role acquiring, curating and publishing data on-prem and in the cloud for analytical and operational uses, with a focus on QA automation for data and P&C insurance systems.

What you'll do

• Acquire, curate and publish data, both on-prem and in the cloud, for analytical or operational uses for basic to moderate scenarios.
• Ensure data is ready to use, creating a single version of the truth across business/technology users, reporting and visualization specialists and data scientists, with coaching and support.
• Translate business analytic requests and requirements into design, development, testing, deployment and production maintenance tasks.
• Consult on data projects of intermediate complexity to understand design requirements and existing business processes, and lead design, development and implementation of data products.
• Practice code management and integration with current architectural and data governance guidelines.
• Produce data building blocks, data models and data flows for dimensional data, standard and ad hoc reporting, data feeds, dashboard reporting and data science research.
• Create business user access methods to structured and unstructured data.
• Use techniques such as mapping data to a common data model, natural language processing, data transformation to satisfy business rules, AI, statistical computations and data validation.
• Translate business data stories into technical story breakdown structures and work estimates for a schedule or planned agile sprint.
• Develop and maintain moderately complex scalable data pipelines for streaming and batch requirements, and build new API integrations.
• Prep and cleanse data to optimize for downstream reporting via standard visualization or AI/ML tools.
• Apply data governance concepts and execute on mid-size projects and large tasks within timelines.
• Develop data project plans and execute with some supervision.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Git, Jira/Azure DevOps and Agile delivery - Intermediate
• Python - Intermediate (4-6 years)
• Pytest, Selenium, Playwright or similar tools - Intermediate (4-6 years)
• Blue Prism or similar tools for RPA - Intermediate (4-6 years)
• Snowflake - Intermediate (4-6 years)
