Finance & Strategy Manager, Machines

Overview

Finance & Strategy Manager, Machines will lead strategic finance for hardware (“machines”) supporting chip and accelerator decisions, forecasts, and hardware ROI analysis.

What you'll do

• Own the economics of chip and accelerator capacity, including cost per chip-hour and TCO across chip generations.
• Evaluate capacity offers and hardware commitments with the Compute deal team.
• Partner with Capacity Planning and Hardware Engineering on financial analysis for machine strategy.
• Own the hardware forecast covering delivery volumes, expenses, and cash flows by chip over time.
• Build and manage the Machines finance team and set operating cadence with central FP&A and Accounting.
• Coordinate with Accounting, Treasury, and Infra FP&A on accounting treatment and forecast inputs.

What you'll need

• Experience in hardware, semiconductor, or hyperscaler capacity economics.
• Experience managing or mentoring finance talent.
• Strong analytical skills to turn ambiguous structures into financial recommendations.
• Ability to partner closely with engineering and commercial teams under deal-timeline pressure.
• Comfort providing financial expertise and guidance for hardware decisions.
• A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

• Hybrid location-based policy: expected to be in an office at least 25% of the time.
