FOSS Engineer

Overview

FOSS Engineer / Engineer–Specialist for OSS Tool Engineering focused on FOSS compliance and maintaining features in an OCaaS OSS tool.

What you'll do

• Maintain features and modules in the OCaaS OSS tool.
• Work with OSS components and repositories (e.g., GitHub, Maven, pipy).
• Apply open-source software principles, licenses, and compliance best practices.
• Use FOSS identification and linking concepts (FOSSID).
• Handle FOSS compliance using Blackduck HUB or other compliance tools.
• Communicate effectively in business English.

What you'll need

• 2 to 8 years of relevant experience in FOSS compliance.
• Knowledge of open-source software principles and licenses.
• Ability to understand how licenses apply to commercial software distributions.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills for complex issues.
• Basic programming knowledge (C/C++, Java, Python, etc.).
• Hands-on knowledge of Blackduck HUB or other OSS compliance tools.
