Overview
Full-stack engineer (backend leaning) on the Core Platform team, building the foundations for how users, workspaces and permissions work across ElevenLabs products.
What you'll do
- Build and improve customer-facing building blocks such as API keys, login experience, analytics, admin tooling and workspace security.
- Work closely with Sales, FDEs and customer teams to turn enterprise and self-serve feedback into product improvements, including helping large customers with complex organisational structures.
- Ship customer-facing features end to end, from backend services to the admin and settings UI.
- Design and build generic resource and permissioning services that product teams use to build features safely and quickly.
- Solve hard, largely greenfield problems at scale, such as how a customer with a million agents assigns and manages access.
- Work across product teams to understand their needs and drive adoption with changes that do not require every team to rework their code.
- Scope work within a large existing system, including rollout risks, whether a migration is needed, and downstream impact.
- Roll out changes safely with minimal disruption to existing users, teams or systems.
- Debug and operate what you build, working from customer reports, logs and code.
- Own features from scoping to completion, with support from experienced engineers.
What you'll need
- Expertise in Python.
- A strong background in backend development, with comfort working across the stack where the work needs it.
- Experience with common software and system design patterns and infrastructure, including APIs, cloud infrastructure tools, storage solutions and data structures.
- Strong test design and security fundamentals.
- Care and attention to detail when changing live, business-critical systems, and the ability to learn a large existing codebase quickly.
- Comfort with ambiguity: working out what should be built and prioritising among competing signals.
- No formal experience, certifications or degrees are required; engineers should show impressively hard problems solved through past projects or GitHub contributions.
Nice to have
- Experience with authentication, authorization or permissioning (OAuth, SSO/SCIM, RBAC or similar).
- Experience with Kubernetes.
- Experience building internal platforms or services used by other engineering teams.
Details
- Remote. The team is based across the UK, EU and US, which is the main focus; exceptional candidates elsewhere are considered. Offices are in Dublin, London, New York, San Francisco and Warsaw.
