GL Accountant

Overview

Palo Alto Networks is seeking a detail-oriented GL Accountant to drive financial accounting quality and efficiency within a fast-paced, high-growth environment. The role executes critical accounting processes, maintains robust internal controls, and collaborates with cross-functional global teams on key projects and process improvements.

What you'll do

• Prepare journal entries with appropriate documentation, uploading them into SAP ERP for global legal entities.
• Execute account reconciliations in Blackline, ensuring high accuracy and timely resolution of reconciling items.
• Assist and actively participate in the monthly financial close process and all related accounting activities.
• Identify and execute process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce financial risk.
• Support the corporate accounting team by preparing audit schedules for internal and external audits.
• Collaborate effectively with external auditors to provide requested documentation and explanations for assigned areas.
• Prepare financial analytics to assist controllers with monthly flux analysis and close-related reviews.
• Communicate seamlessly with cross-functional teams across different regions to ensure alignment and efficiency.
• Assist in any additional and ad-hoc accounting activities required by the Record-to-Report (R2R) team.

What you'll need

• CA or CPA qualified with a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in GL/RTR functions within a large US multinational corporation.
• Sound knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting standards.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for financial analysis and presentation.
• Highly detail-oriented with a proven ability to process transactions efficiently and accurately.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have

• Experience with SAP, Oracle, or other similar enterprise ERP systems.
• Hands-on experience with account reconciliation tools, specifically Blackline.
• Energetic and positive attitude with a strong track record of promoting teamwork.

• Location: Bangalore Bagmane Tech Park, India (office-based).
• Most teams work from the office full time, with flexibility when needed.
