HDD Firmware Validation Engineer - FIT and Script Development

Overview

HDD Firmware Validation Engineer focused on Functional Integration Test (FIT) execution and test automation/script development for hard disk drive (HDD) validation.

What you'll do

• Set up, configure, and maintain FIT test systems for HDD firmware validation.
• Design, execute, and document firmware test plans and test cases across multiple HDD programs.
• Run functional integration tests for drive performance, regression, error handling, and stress testing on different host platforms and interfaces.
• Perform firmware update testing, SMART attribute validation, Drive Self-Test (DST), and power management verification.
• Collect and analyze drive diagnostic logs to identify and document failure root causes.
• Develop and maintain T-REX/Python test scripts for automation, including log parsing and results reporting.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering (Electrical/Electronics/Computer/Mechatronics) or equivalent.
• Programming proficiency in C, C++, Java, or Python (basic to intermediate).
• Analytical skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet project timelines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Self-motivated and able to work well with people.
• Ability to work on tight project schedules and meet deadlines.
