High Voltage Transmission Electrical Engineer - Remote (U.S.)

Overview

High Voltage Transmission Electrical Engineer specializing in HVDC electrical power systems, focused on design and engineering support for HVDC terrestrial/submarine cable systems and converter stations.

What you'll do

• Provide engineering support for HVDC terrestrial and submarine cable systems and converter stations.
• Support HVDC cable routing and converter station feasibility studies.
• Provide technical input during the project permitting phase.
• Prepare conceptual level engineering documents.
• Develop electrical engineering design schedules and budgets with the Project Engineer and Project Manager.
• Conduct power system studies including load flow, short circuit, protective coordination, and arc flash analysis.
• Develop and analyze PSCAD models and produce electrical diagrams and schematics.

What you'll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6 years of relevant HVDC/power industry experience, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Experience in electrical power engineering with some leadership experience.
• Experience witnessing testing of HVDC equipment and systems (field experience requirement implied across responsibilities).
