Overview

Contribute English (South Africa) scripted and conversational voice recordings for an audio data collection project that may support synthesized AI voices.

What you'll do

• Complete two supervised recording sessions of approximately four hours each.
• Record scripted material in a natural, conversational tone.
• Record spontaneous speech on assigned topics.
• Set up and manage your recording space and equipment.
• Record entirely in the required language and dialect.

What you'll need

• Experience as a voice actor, actor, theater performer, or equivalent.
• Native or native-equivalent fluency in the required language and dialect.
• Access to a quiet, echo-free recording space.
• A dedicated professional-grade microphone for the audition and session recording.
• Closed-back monitoring headphones for session recording.
• Ability to self-direct and follow live direction.

Nice to have

• Professional conversational voice-over experience.
• Basic audio hygiene and noise-monitoring skills.
• An existing acoustically treated home recording setup.

Details

• Freelance, remote work.
• Estimated commitment is approximately 8 hours of calibration plus two supervised sessions of about 4 hours each.
• Rate is $20 USD per hour.
• Voice recordings may be used to train synthesized or AI voice models.
