Overview
Industrial Automation Engineer focused on improving assembly methods, production process/equipment performance, and Smart Factory/Industry 4.0 initiatives for ABB India Smart Power.
What you'll do
- Optimize production assembly methods, processes, and equipment to minimize labor hours.
- Ensure appropriate production methods, cycle time, equipment performance, and materials/components for production targets.
- Define the working phase sequence for a new production process to meet targeted product cost and equipment budget.
- Oversee Industry 4.0 and Smart Factory initiatives and turn ideas into practical manufacturing solutions.
- Manage planning, execution, budgeting, and implementation of Smart Factory projects within timelines and priorities.
- Analyze material flow, information flow, operational processes, and factory architecture to design future-ready smart manufacturing systems.
- Plan and facilitate assembly processes and layouts, including assembly line qualification and stakeholder management.
What you'll need
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical/electromechanical/mechatronics or related engineering.
- 12–15 years of relevant experience in Automation or Industrial Engineering.
- Advanced knowledge of PLC and SCADA/HMI plus Industry 4.0, IoT, and smart factory technologies.
- Proficiency in industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/IP, RS232/RS485, Ethernet, Profinet, and Profibus, and LAN/Wi‑Fi networking.
- Experience with NI-LabVIEW and programming technologies such as C#/.NET, MVC, WPF, and Python.
- Knowledge of MySQL/MS-SQL or other RDBMS.

- Onsite work model with support for ABB India Ltd (Electrification Smart Power Business) based at Nelamangala, Bangalore, India.
- Reports to the Production Engineering Manager.
